Write for us

We welcome pitches that help readers examine a public idea with care: a clearly defined claim, a useful comparison, a revealing piece of context or an explanation of how an argument is constructed.

What makes a good pitch

Send a brief proposal that states the question, the central point you would investigate, why it matters to a general reader and what material could support the piece. Define the scope: a narrow, answerable question is more useful than a promise to cover an entire debate. Mention relevant experience only if it helps explain your approach.

The kind of work we consider

We consider original analysis and explanatory writing that separates evidence from interpretation, represents disagreement fairly and avoids claims beyond its support. We are not looking for promotional copy, unsupported allegations or pieces that depend on readers accepting a predetermined conclusion.

How to send a proposal

Send pitches through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Include a working title, a short outline and a note about any material conflicts or interests relevant to the subject. A pitch is a proposal, not a guarantee of publication; please do not send confidential or sensitive personal information.

Our approach

An argument is more than its loudest sentence

We slow down public claims to see what they say, what supports them and what remains uncertain. Context is not a verdict; it is a way to read with care.
